Runway, Houses, City, Clouds

April 14th, 2010

Another song from InnerSpeaker, “Runway, Houses, City, Clouds”, has been released in full to pitchfork for you to listen to. Link here: http://pitchfork.com/forkcast/14156-runway-houses-city-clouds/

Now I was supposed to not listen to anything else from the album, but I failed and listened to this… It’s good, but the intro is different than most Tame Impala. It confused me at first! The rest of the song is though. Here’s a quote from Pitchfork:

“…the seven-minute monster “Runway, Houses, City, Clouds” alternates between a rollicking bass-led melody and dreamy interludes, before dissolving into a hash-laced coda.”

It’s a really cool song, so check it out! Or resist and wait for the full album… the choice is yours!

Innerspeaker Now Available for iTunes Preorder

April 7th, 2010

That’s right, you can preorder your digital version of Innerspeaker in the Australian iTunes Store. And you know what that means… song previews! I’m going to resist listening to the previews and wait for the full thing, but if you feel the urge, go for it! They’re only 30 second previews though. I’ve been told that DBDG is not the same as the EP version, and that Bold Arrow of Time has added a “The” to the front of the title and slowed down into something blazed and trippy. I can’t wait!

Check out the iTunes Innerspeaker page with previews here.

Solitude is Bliss on Myspace

April 2nd, 2010

Sorry I was a little late to post this, guys, but TI are now streaming the first single from Innerspeaker on their myspace. Go there now and check it out! http://www.myspace.com/tameimpala

I think it’s one of the best Tame Impala songs to date. It’s got a really groovy rhythm to it, and the phaser on the guitar is really cool, especially because there are two guitars in the song, and both have phasers; when one phaser peaks at the high end on one guitar, the other phaser hits the bottom of the low end on the other guitar. It creates a really cool sound. I look forward to the rest of the album even more now! Although I will try to refrain from listening to any more tidbits before the actual album drops to make it more powerful.

In other news, you can preorder InnerSpeaker today from both the Modular Website and JB Hifi .com. And you get something special if you order from JB Hifi online… they have a special edition that comes signed, with an extra unreleased 26 minute song, 4 live tracks, and a video for Solitude Is Bliss, all for $20 AUD! I’ve already preorded my copy! It’s a great deal, because Modular is charging $20 for the regular edition as well. And yes, they ship internationally, for around $8 if I remember correctly.

InnerSpeaker Album Art

March 26th, 2010

Released today. It’s InnerSpeaker’s album art! I think it fits; I really like it. A lot more than MGMT’s Congratulations album art, which I expected to be awesome… it just doesn’t really fit or look that trippy. Now THIS art, on the other hand, I can get into. Why? I don’t know. I always liked nature shots, and it’s edited just enough to work for Tame. Enough rambling, here’s the pic.

Sexy, isn't it?
